  • Live Tribute To Hiatt, Upcoming CD
    Singer, Ilse DeLange performed a "Flashback to John Hiatt" show in Holland recently. The resulting live album will be released in September. This lovely singer has a triple-platinum-selling album in the Netherlands. On "World Of Hurt," Delange gets help from folks like Vince Gill, Jerry Douglas, and Barry Beckett.

  • John as Host of "Sessions" Confirmed
    The third season of PBS' Sessions at West 54th begins with Hiatt at the helm.

July 20, 1999

  • Lot's of news!
    John is rumored to be replacing David Byrne as host of PBS's Sessions at West 54th. More to come on this!

    New Hiatt record tentatively titled "Why I Have Thumbs" from interview in The Ottawa Citizen.

    John Hiatt Reunites The Goners Guitarist, Sonny Landreth, drummer, Ken Blevins, & bassist, Dave Ranson will be joining John on his next album for Capitol Records. The Goners will also be appearing at a free post-game show following the August 27 pre-season game for the Nashville Titans NFL team.

    Hiatt's classic tune from Slow Turning is one of 87 tunes selected for a 4-CD set of driving tunes titled Hot Rods & Custom Classics: Cruisin' Songs & Highway Hits.

March 30, 1999

  • Muddy Waters Tribute Album To Include John Hiatt
    The 1997 tribute to legendary bluesman, Muddy Waters shown as part of the PBS series, Kennedy Center Presents, will be released as an album May 18. John appeared with artists such as Keb Mo, Phoebe Snow and Buddy Guy in a reverent homage to this pioneer of the electric guitar.

  • Best Of Sessions At West 54th To Feature John Hiatt
    The PBS show, hosted by David Byrne will include excerpts from John's 1998 appearance as well as clips featuring other great performers.

March 21, 1999

  • John Hiatt Guest Appearance on The Band's New CD
    John Hiatt plays guitar and sings on his song, "Bound By Love" on The Band's latest recording, Jubilation.

February 21, 1999

  • Live Webcast - John Hiatt Interview This Tuesday
    John is scheduled for a 1/2-hour live audio interview on February 23 at 3:45 pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) as part of the Grammy Webcast going on all this week. The interview will be followed by a 1/2-hour chat. Go to www.grammy.com.

    John Will perform his Grammy-nominated "Have A Little Faith In Me" on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

February 4, 1999

  • Shows Cancelled
    John Hiatt has canceled all of his tour dates scheduled for February due to surgery he will have to remove a cyst from his throat.
    Hiatt must have the cyst removed from his throat. The cyst was not life threatening but would have caused him to permanently lose his voice. Hiatt is still confirmed to perform at the first 1999 Sundance Film Festival Music Studio, an acoustic showcase of live music to be held at the popular Sundance Film Festival from Jan. 22nd - 26th in Park City, Utah. Hiatt's career spans more than twenty years, he recently received two Grammy Award nominations. Hiatt is expected to resume his singing in March or April.
